Warehouse open days
Do you live near, or visit the Forest of Dean? Then why not pop in and see us?
We hold regular public open days which allow you to come and pick books direct from our warehouse shelves. There is no need to book just drop in on one of the dates below.
We also welcome visits from teachers, childcare providers and group leaders through out the year by appointment- to book a time to pop in simply email email@example.com (Please allow at least 24hrs notice as we are often out at books fairs and shows)
Unit AA, Acacia Building 13/2
Vantage Point Business Village
Once you come into Vantage Point go past the gate house (give security a wave!) then on the very first sharp left hand bend there is a road off it (on the left) signposted ‘11,12,13’ and ‘High Road’ take that turning, If you go round the bend you have gone too far!, continue up hill and carry straight on then once you have past Stock Sweepers follow the road around to the right to go behind the building. You can park at the back of the building and go through the first blue door to the right of ScrewTech. (Books for Bugs sign will be outside) we are on the first floor.
We accept cash or card payments and receipts can be provided at time of purchase.
We will also accept cheques from schools and official groups but sadly no longer accept cheques from individuals.
Children and disabled visitors
PLEASE NOTE we are on the first floor up two flights of stairs. It is an old building and therefore persons are not permitted to ride in the lifts.. the lifts do get stuck from time to time! We can however send wheelchairs and pushchairs up in the lift if required.
If you are disabled and unable to access the first floor without aides please let us know you are popping along and we can arrange for books to be brought down to the foyer for you to look through- we will always find a way!
Children of all ages are welcome to visit, after all we wouldn’t have a business without them! But ask that parents please supervise children at all times. Forklifts maybe operating near the car park and there are other businesses within our building using pallet trucks and such like. Inside our warehouse its quite child friendly and we do have a small play area.

We had a great time this warehouse open day celebrating Science week. We had all our usual books available plus a large range of science and STEM books all still available at just £2.50 each. To get hands on with science we also had some fun activities running which everyone was welcome to join in with- these included making a paperclip float on water, making cress heads and even getting an egg inside a bottle! A big well done to Bugs 1 and 3 who not only planned the experiments but also did shows and got people involved. One of my favourite open days so far!
Taken over by Stormtroopers!
What an incredible day! The Gloucestershire Stormtroopers were fantastic so much fun was had by all, parents and children!
And it just so happened to be one of the Stormtroopers birthdays which couldn’t go unmarked.. I mean where else would you go and get to buy bargain books and sing happy birthday to a Stormtrooper!!
